Soleheaven Stylist: How To Wear Your Nike Tennis Classic's

A totally underrated sneaker, the Tennis Classic doesn’t rock the typical aesthetics of Nike as they take a much more minimal approach, the lustrous silhouette usually contained in a monochrome iteration with sleek finishing details.

These iterations feature an all suede upper which exudes a premium vibe, whilst the Nylon tongue adds a durable cushioning comfort. Rocking tonal uppers with either a full Oatmeal or Grey colour scheme which extends through to the laces and stitching and even the sock-liner. They have elegantly been complimented by white accents on the tongue branding and on the heel. The gum sole is like the icing on the cake, if these had a white midsole or a black midsole it would be too much of a contrast or pop, but due to the subtle nature of a gum sole, the finish is so clean and contemporary. The perforated swoosh and branding on the heel add to the minimal profile of the shoe as it is debossed which streamlines the shoe making it perfect for everyday wear and styling.

Here I have styled the Pure Platinum colourway with a skater-ish style outfit with cropped jeans and white socks along with a white palace t-shirt, accompanied with a black shirt and jacket. Because the gum sole breaks up the shoe the white accents create a fitting contrast and allows for a casual outfit. The minimal outfit also plays on the minimal construction and aesthetics of the perforated swoosh.

These can be a staple for your wardrobe as they have great adaptability and are extremely versatile for styling, because they are so minimal they can go great with a plain outfit whilst keeping that branding and premium feel, for example, a plain jumper or tee in grey, white or black accompanied with a huge style of jeans. So for the next outfit, I have styled the Oatmeal colourway with an Our Legacy shirt and some vintage Navy Stone Island jeans, this for me creates an effortless look that is very contemporary and fresh as no one piece outshines the rest and they all combine to make the outfit as a whole.

In clothing terms, these sneaks are a plain jumper or t-shirt, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t great. They are more of an essential if anything. It’s what makes them so perfect. Like if I wanted to buy a staple jumper I would purchase a plain A.P.C or ACNE one because I know I would get my wear out of them as they go with so many outfits as opposed to buying a vibrant/quirky jumper that would be worn once every few months. So they are a clean wearable sneak that will go with so many different outfits.
