Sneaker Focus: Air Max Zero Essentials "Bred"

Originally released in 2015, the design for the Air Max Zero laid dormant for decades, as it was deemed to creative for its time and became lost in the sketchbooks. It finally came into production recently when the designs were stumbled upon as Nike searched through designs to celebrate the second annual Air Max day. Innovative technology like the Sock-racer fit provides a comfortable snug feel for the wearer as it wraps around your ankle allowing all day use. The Air Max Zero is even slimmer & lighter due to the thin hyper fuse layering accompanied with the mesh upper providing the ultimate comfy sneaker, which is further reinforced by the hollowed-out outer sole with flex grooves which provide a naturally flexible running shoe.

They have been in the workshop again and received an iconic makeover that pays tribute to the legendary sneaks that are the Air Jordan 1 “Bred”. The red & black colours in this iteration have been greatly influenced by the Jordan 1 Bred colour-way that was made famous when Michael Jordan wore them on the court, as they went against NBA regulations which led to Jordan and Nike being fined, which also gave them the “Banned” nickname.

Now that doesn’t mean it’s a complete copy of the Jordan’s. You don’t even need to be a fan of Jordan’s to appreciate this colour-way. Not at all. This release brings a fresh change to the original Bred colour way as it doesn’t follow the block colours that are present in the Jordan’s. Instead the upper consists of integrated red and black woven mesh on the toe box and the heel counter that brings a new look for people to don whilst retaining the timeless colours. It is also accompanied with a matte black hyper fuse tape that covers parts of the mudguard and lateral parts of the sneaker. The contrasting red swoosh and “air” on the sides makes the shoe pop and is sure to turn heads. The white midsole finishes the look with a clean contemporary look.

This colourway can be appreciated by all sneakerheads and not even just the basketball lovers. The blend of innovative technology mixed with the timeless colourway brings it together to craft a comfortable, stylish pair of kicks for all to enjoy and rock on the streets.
